Princess Charlotte Turns 1 as Kate Middleton Releases New Photos of Tot in Gorgeous Outfit

On May 2, 2016, Princess Charlotte turned 1-year-old. Her mother, Kate Middleton the Duchess of Cambridge released new photos of the darling angel who is fourth in line to the throne. Princess Charlotte's full name is Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, named after her paternal grandmother, Lady Diana. As Kate Middleton released the new photos of her little princess, demand for Charlotte's outfits grew. The U.K. boutiques that sold her outfits have been so busy with orders, that they are restocking much of their wares.  You might have noticed that the photos look as if they were taken by a professional photographer. Chalk that up to Princess Kate's photography skills as she took the photos herself.

The new photos of Princess Charlotte were released on Instagram. You may see them below.

There is no question that Princess Charlotte is a beautiful baby and her parents are more down-to-earth than one would expect royals to be. You might think that Princess Charlotte's outfit would far surpass the average American's paycheck. Surprisingly, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very modest when it comes to their choice of clothing. I can't help but think that Princess Charlotte's paternal grandmother, Lady Diana is smiling down from heaven at this little cherub as she takes her first step with her walker. You can see so much of Lady Diana's influence in Prince William and Princess Kate's beauty is stunning. In fact, she's gracing the cover of British Vogue this June.

Princess Charlotte certainly appears an active baby in her photos and what's nice to see is her pre-walker shoes. Not many people these days choose to have their baby's feet properly fitted for walking shoes. This was a customary practice in previous days, but many opt to let their babies learn to walk while barefooted. Princess You can learn more about Princess Charlotte's gorgeous outfit, where to buy the shoes, clothes, wooden toys and wooden walker in the U.K. and how to find similar items on Amazon through the individual, direct links to the U.K. and my Amazon affiliate links below.

Princess Charlotte is wearing several colored tights in her photos. She is seen wearing comfy, ribbed sky-blue tights with her light blue dress and white knit sweater while sitting on the wicker chair; and in the photo where she is pushing her wooden walker, with wooden toys, she is wearing pale pink tights The tights are from Amaia Kids and are available in colors such as Plum, Light Blue, Jean, Blue France, Navy, Baby Pink, Dusty Pink, Fuchsia, Cherry, Grenat, Chocolate, Chestnut, Aubergine, Dusty Mauve, White, Light Grey, Charcoal, Dark Grey, Cream, Oat Beige, Stone and Black.

There are three brands on Amazon that are a perfect and affordable substitute for those who can't get Amaia ribbed tights. Wrapables sells thick, winter cotton ribbed tights for girls and you get a set of two. The color choices are simple, including black and white; navy and lavender and pink and gray.

The next is from Jefferies Socks and while they don't offer the line of ribbed tights, they have a large color selection. Those that want a thinner tight in more colors may check out Jefferies tights. They also offer tights for 2-4 years up to 10-14. Check with each color option for sizes.

Those looking for tights perfect for infants and babies will want to check out Baby Emporio. Sizes include 0-6 months, 6-12 months and 12-24 months. These small sizes are more in line with Princess Charlotte's outfit. Four colors are available including Fuchsia, Pink, Red and Black.

Princess Charlotte is photographed wearing two dresses, and you can find those at M H. They are developing a new website, most likely due to increased demand after dressing the royal princess, and you'll find the beautiful dresses Princess Charlotte has been photographed in. Currently you can visit the site at MH Tiendas, but the new website will have the address MyHbaby.com. Here are some similar style baby dresses that feature a beautiful, floral print that is similar to the MH Tiendas dresses chosen by Kate Middleton for Princess Charlotte.

First Impressions has a number of beautiful baby dresses that are affordable, on-sale, part of Amazon Prime and feature floral patterns on cotton that are reminiscent of Princess Charlotte's dress. Carriage Boutique is a little more expensive than First Impressions, but has a line of dresses that have the same classic elegance as Princess Charlotte's outfit. The Lavender Lime, floral print dress features a white collar and sleeves. Carriage Boutique has many classic dresses that range from everyday, outdoor wear, to fancy and elegant.

You'll notice that Princess Charlotte is wearing a beautiful, cashmere knit sweater. Carter's is one company in the United States that is revered for their high-quality and affordable prices. The Carter's shop on Amazon has a number of beautiful and elegant floral print dresses that come with a cardigan. Noted, the cardigan is not cashmere or hand knitted, but it is a wonderful way to recreate Princess Charlotte's look while on a budget.

Princess  Charlotte is wearing several cardigans in her photos. The light pink, cardigan is believed to be from M&H while the white, cashmere cardigan is from Olivier Baby and Kids. Those looking for affordable options to replace the hand-knitted, cashmere sweater will find that Carter's and eTree, offer great alternatives. ETree even has a cashmere, cotton blend that makes sure your child will look elegant while you can easily launder the sweater at home.

ETree sweaters are very decorative so you can find sweaters that feature the same, simple elegance as Princess Charlotte's or opt for something more flashy and daring. They also have a full line of boy's sweaters and several that are unisex.

Finally, Princess Charlotte was photographed pushing a wooden walker with wood alphabet blocks. The toy has quickly become a best seller and it shows that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have a strong appreciation for classic, wood toys. You'll find that here in the United States, stores like Target, Toys-R-Us and Wal-Mart are restocking their shelves with classic, wood toys and even toys from the 50s, 60s and 70s. The wooden walker toy seen in the photos is the Pintoy Wooden Baby Walker with Alphabet Blocks from The Toy Centre in the U.K.

Though not featuring the alphabet blocks, Hape has a full line of wooden block and roll carts that feature shape and other blocks. These are an affordable option for those who want the Pintoy Wooden Baby Walker with Alphabet Blocks, but can't get one. You can always add wooden alphabet blocks to the cart as well. Here is a link to Hape's line of wooden walkers on Amazon.
